On our way home from church yesterday, Calvin asked a very interesting question. He asked “How did God make everything, mum?” I was of course taken aback by his question, but I knew I had to try my best to give him an answer that was correct as well as simple enough for him to understand. Before I could say anything, Robin said “God has the power to make all things, Calvin”. Then Calvin said “Yeah, God is powerful!”. I asked if he learned about God’s power at Sunday School, and he nodded. I don’t think he fully understand the meaning of “power”, at this stage but I think to him, God is very big and strong, one who can make all things. So, our boy has learned something new about God as well as a new word — powerful.
Athan, who was sitting next to Calvin at the back of the car, has been listening to our conversation and he kept repeating the word “powful” (powerful) all the way home. 🙂
