Afternoon Tea At Kindy.

This afternoon, I went to a afternoon tea at Calvin’s kindy.  I have to say I had a very enjoyable time there.

The parents were all invited to afternoon tea for a very special reason.  Well, to celebrate end of term 1! Yay! How time flies, it has been 10 weeks of school for Calvin already. The weather was perfect for a afternoon tea outdoors — where the children played.  All the food was prepared by the children!  I was impressed.  There were pikelets (little pancakes) spread with butter, fairy sandwiches, scones and biscuits.  The children were even asked to serve us with tea or coffee!

Calvin was so eager to show me his class and the play area.  He brought me around the place and pointed out everything to me like I was a tourist. 🙂 I just followed him.  I was only allowed t sit and eat after the *guided tour*.

I also have very nice chats with a few of the mums.  It was such a nice opportunity to get to know  them.  The turnout was great and I was so glad I went. After the food, we went into the classroom.  The school principal came and said a few words to us — reinforcing that kindy education is important and how he was impressed that the kids have already set into a routine and able to listen and follow instructions.  The teacher also gave a little speech where she shared that the children had no problems adjusting socially and in the classroom.  She has also written comments for each child as well as left a section for us to give her feedback.  After that, the children presented 3 songs to us and then they were handed their folio which contained all the work that they have done and learn in the last 10 weeks.  I looked through the folio with Calvin and I was very very proud of my little boy.  He has indeed improved in many areas and I know that his teachers have done a great job with him.

The only thing that I regret was that I forgot to bring my camera!

    Hi Cheng,
Glad to know that Calvin is enjoying school, he has really grown up! The fact that he can show you around the school means that he is really enjoying and learning. Now that it is school term break, have some fun and rest. You have been a great mum!! : )*
