Happy Chinese New Year!

Today is the first day of Chinese New Year, and we would like to wish all our chinese friends a very happy new year — Xin Nian Kuai Le, Wan Shi Ru Yi!

It so happen that today is Australia Day over here and so today is a public holiday for us!  We did not do much except for having some friends over for a steamboat dinner.  The company was great, the kids played well and we enjoyed the time chatting while cooking the food in the hot soup. In fact, we already had a steamboat dinner last night for reunion dinner.

We prepared so much food that we even had enough for another round of steamboat dinner today.  I have to confess that I deliberately prepared more so that we could invite more friends over to have a meal with us. We invited some Australian friends to have the meal with us and they found the whole concept of having to cook the food themselves quite interesting.  They liked it.

Chinese New Year celebrations here in Perth is quite limited, I would say. Perhaps we should plan to return to Singapore or Robin’s hometown in Kuching in the near future for Chinese New Year, so that the boys can experience the celebrations.  Perhaps.
