I have received several personal emails asking why I have not been writing. Did something happen?

Well, Calvin and I were in Singapore for the last 2.5 weeks. My father became very ill and needed to be hospitalised quite suddenly. It was too difficult for everyone of us to fly back and so the executive decision was for Calvin to follow me while Athan remained behind with his dad and grandma. I did not inform any of my friends in Singapore that I was returning as time was tight and this was not a social visit. I wanted to be with my family. Hope you guys understand.

Anyway, my dad was in hospital for 10 days. I spent quite a lot of time with him and was able to chat with him when he was sober. He has a number of illnesses, all age-related. He was so weak and frail when I saw him. It was very hard for me to see my father this way, I was sad. I wished I could move home to be with my family.

Thank God that dad’s condition is stabilised and is home now . He seems to be getting better. He will not be able to recover fully, but we are hoping that the medication will maintain his health for a while.

Calvin, I have to say was a challenge to me. He played up real bad after the first week we were there. I think it’s mainly because I wasn’t there for him most of the time as I was at the hospital, and his routine was disrupted. Thank God that he behaved better towards the end of the trip. Now that we are home, he seemed to be back to his normal self again. kids….
