Two Fun-Filled Days.

We had 2 consecutive days of outing with the boys.  First was a play date/ social outing that I organised for my mother’s group at a park and  the other was a three-year-old birthday party.

The outing at the park was fantastic. The kids had a blast at the playground area and the adults had a chance to catch up and talk.  There was also a pond where the ducks live.  The kids were so excited to see the ducks come towards them for a feed — well, they each had a slice of bread in their hand! Even the seagulls came looking for a feed! Here are a few photos of the boys ….

We had a picnic lunch at the park before we said goodbye to each other.  The boys were happy and tired at the end of the play time.  They had each collected “treasures” in their pockets to show their dad too!  Well, Calvin found a nice piece of rock and a shell and some *spikey looking nuts* from the tree while Athan found a handful of  the *spikey looking nuts* …. they were so proud and could not wait to get home to show their father. They were talking about their *treasures* all the way home in the car. 🙂 Cute.

Today, we attended a 3-year-old girl birthday party. We knew the family from church and mother’s group and so the kids know each other pretty well. And, the invited guests were mostly from church and from our mum’s group too! Again, the kids had a ball playing with each other. Athan was *hooked* to this little bike that he found.  He even won the car race (party game) he had with his peers!  Calvin was playing with the older kids and he did not win the car race. The boy was soooooo disappointed. He wanted so badly to win and was tearing when he did not.  He has been showing his competitiveness of late and does not seem to be able to handle a defeat well.  I am still working on this.  Well, one school of thought is that it is good to be competitive and when he grows older he will learn how to control himself more.  I need to keep teaching him the right way to manage defeat. But, the boy was quickly settled after having some cake.  🙂

I have to say the party was very organised.  Many parents were impressed, including me of course.  All the kids had fun and the birthday girl had fun — that’s the most important.  Didn’t manage to capture many moments during the party as I was busy watching out for Athan and talking to other parents . :)  Here are a couple of photos I took of the boys :

The party ended with a little treasure hunt where the kids each had to find a balloon that has a lolly bag tied to it.  Everyone wins in this game! What a great idea.

I think I need a break from outings for a while — BUT the boys are already asking where they will be going tomorrow!
