Meet The Parents.

I managed to make it to the parents meeting at Calvin’s school this morning.  I wasn’t going to go as I had 2 meetings this morning and I have arranged for Robin to go instead.  HOWEVER. Things happened last minute — he could not make it and so I had to try to make it — some how.  The parents’ meeting was not compulsory, but I thought it was important to go and meet the teachers and principals as well as for them to meet us. And so, I went.

The teachers were all very experienced.  They have been working in the school for the many many years and were all early childhood educators.  Not only were they experienced, they were also very passionate about their work.  I liked that.  Calvin’s teacher seemed very friendly and patient — my observation, anyway. She strongly encouraged parents’ involvement and wanted us to go on a roster to help out in the class at least once every term.

I managed to talk briefly to some other parents who were there before I had to rush off for my meeting. I felt good  as I left the school.  It was all very positive.  Calvin should be in good hands — that’s all that mattered. I sure hope that his current experience at the 3-year-old kindy will help him to adjust well to his new learning environment.
