Long Weekend.

It’s a public holiday here today and so I was home with the boys. How nice. The weather was gorgeous and perfect for a family outing. And so, we decided to spend first part of the day at a nearby foreshore with our two favourite little people.

The place was packed with families when we arrived and we had so much trouble finding a parking spot. Thank God that someone left when we circled the area for the third time.

Our family time together turned out to be a fun and enjoyable and, quite stress-less, I have to say. I love time like this.

Calvin had a ball at the children’s play area. He was quite disappointed (he saw the playground) when we told him in the car that we might have to go somewhere else because we could not find parking. And so, he was ecstatic when we finally found a parking spot.

He had so much energy once outdoors. He went on the slide over and over again, climbed ladders, crawled tunnels etc. He wouldn’t stop. He even went on a revolving ring with the other children there. He was hesitant at first, but I encouraged him and went with him to ask the children who were already on the ring. They turned out to be so friendly and Calvin blended in right away. Kids.

This boy loves chasing the birds as well. He ran around the grass area chasing after the birds that were feeding off scraps of food left behind. The thing is, he won’t run too far away from us. He made sure he could see us all the time. He is quite fearful of being left behind.

As for Mr Athan, he was so playful and happy. We believed he had a great time too. He smiled heaps and was very chatty. He wanted to have a share of whatever we are eating or doing. The only thing that restricted him was the fact that he could not walk yet. If he could, I believe he would be following his big brother everywhere and we would have to watch him all the time. This boy is quite adventurous and does not hesitate when it comes to trying new things. He just go for it.

He behaved really well throughout the whole outing, I have to say, given that his nap time was pushed back by quite a lot. He ate well, and was so good with the stroller. He was happy to sit in his stroller and happy to be pushed along.

On our way home, he was so tired, but yet he was very very playful and cheeky. He kept making funny noises at us, and when we returned him with similar *noise*, he chuckled non-stop. This went on for the whole journey home. Amazing.

When we got home, it was way past their nap time. I was so worried that they were over-tired and would play up. Thank God we managed to put them straight to bed without any protest. They went down for 2 hours! That left me with plenty of time to prepare dinner for some friends tonight. Nice.
